Euro­pean Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on Infra­struc­tu­re (Euro­QCI)

Euro­QCI aim at secu­ring govern­men­tal com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on, data and cri­ti­cal infra­struc­tures by deploy­ing a pan Euro­pean space and ter­restri­al net­work for quan­tum dis­tri­bu­ti­on of cryp­to­gra­phic keys (Quan­tum Key Dis­tri­bu­ti­on, QKD). Buil­ding on the acti­vi­ties alre­a­dy fun­ded under the Digi­tal Euro­pe Pro­gram­me and plan­ned under the Con­nec­ting Euro­pe Faci­li­ty (Digi­tal), the IRIS²­pro­gram is sup­port­ing the fur­ther deve­lo­p­ment and deploy­ment of the Euro­QCI initia­ti­ve and prepa­re for its gra­du­al inte­gra­ti­on as a ser­vice into the Uni­on secu­re con­nec­ti­vi­ty sys­tem. This call fore­see three topics that con­tri­bu­te to the objec­ti­ves of the Euro­QCI Decla­ra­ti­on by addres­sing the matu­ra­ti­on of the Euro­pean indus­tri­al eco­sys­tem for secu­ri­ty-cer­ti­fied ter­restri­al QKD tech­no­lo­gies and sys­tems, the coor­di­na­ti­on of Euro­QCI deploy­ments across Euro­pe and the sup­port to neces­sa­ry stan­dar­di­s­a­ti­on acti­vi­ties. Appli­ca­ti­ons can be sub­mit­ted from 15 July 2025.
On 9 July 2025, an infor­ma­ti­on ses­si­on will also be held to take a clo­ser look at the topics and objec­ti­ves of the call as well as prac­ti­cal ins­truc­tions. Further infor­ma­ti­on on the fun­ding call and the info ses­si­on can be found here.
