Open Consultation on future EuroQCI Activities

European Commission calls for public Participation:

The development of infrastructures for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), as well as technological advances in the field of Quantum Communications, position Europe at the forefront of the development of corresponding communication infrastructures. Alongside numerous EU programmes and national initiatives, the EuroQCI initiative is one of the key funding instruments in this area. Despite significant progress, several challenges remain that must be addressed before the implementation of QKD and Quantum Communications can fully achieve the objective set out in the EuroQCI Declaration: a certified secure, end-to-end European Quantum Communication Infrastructure. The next steps are therefore both crucial and complex: they require targeted efforts to address existing bottlenecks and gaps in a realistic and practical manner.

To support this process and gather as many technical contributions as possible, the EuroQCI team of the European Commission has published an open consultation consisting of six guiding questions. The survey offers researchers and experts the opportunity to contribute their knowledge and perspectives, thereby helping to shape the further development of EuroQCI. The feedback received will feed into future EuroQCI activities, which are expected to be supported by the European Commission from 2027 onwards. Participation is open until 24 June 2026. Click here for the survey.
