Quan­tum Com­pu­ting Com­pe­ti­ti­on

Announce­ment for the Fun­ding of Pro­jects on the Sub­ject “Mis­si­on-Dri­ven Hard­ware Com­pe­ti­ti­on”:

Through the “Mis­si­on-Dri­ven Hard­ware Com­pe­ti­ti­on: Error-cor­rec­ted Quan­tum Com­pu­ting with the Estab­lish­ment of Pilot Lines (Quan­tum Com­pu­ting Com­pe­ti­ti­on),” the Bun­des­mi­nis­te­ri­um für For­schung, Tech­no­lo­gie und Raum­fahrt (BMFTR), as part of the “Quan­tum Sys­tems Rese­arch Pro­gram,” is fun­ding the neces­sa­ry rese­arch and deve­lo­p­ment work in the three curr­ent­ly most advan­ced tech­no­lo­gy plat­forms, as well as – optio­nal­ly and if neces­sa­ry to achie­ve the objec­ti­ves – the estab­lish­ment of asso­cia­ted rese­arch and pilot pro­duc­tion infra­struc­tures as strong nodes in a Euro­pean fab net­work (“From Lab to Fab”). The most advan­ced tech­no­lo­gies curr­ent­ly rely on neu­tral atoms, super­con­duc­tors, and trap­ped ions. Fur­ther infor­ma­ti­on on the call is available here.
