World of Quan­tum 2025

The World of Quan­tum is an inter­na­tio­nal trade fair held every two years that brings tog­e­ther actors and stake­hol­ders from the field of Quan­tum Tech­no­lo­gies. The aim of the fair is to pre­sent a com­pre­hen­si­ve tool­kit for the deve­lo­p­ment and con­s­truc­tion of Quan­tum Sys­tems as well as to show­ca­se all appli­ca­ti­on are­as of Quan­tum Tech­no­lo­gies. The exhi­bi­ti­on spec­trum includes, among others, laser sys­tems, sub­sys­tems and com­pon­ents for Quan­tum Tech­no­lo­gy, Quan­tum Com­pu­ting, Quan­tum Simu­la­ti­on, Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on, Quan­tum Cryp­to­gra­phy, Quan­tum Sens­ing & Metro­lo­gy, and Quan­tum Ima­ging. SQuaD was also repre­sen­ted this year with its own booth.

 

The fair took place from 24 to 27 June 2025 at the Mes­se Munich Trade Fair Cen­ter and fea­tured 160 exhi­bi­tors from 16 count­ries – inclu­ding com­pa­nies, start-ups, and rese­arch insti­tu­ti­ons – as well as 22,000 par­ti­ci­pan­ts from 41 count­ries. Espe­ci­al­ly note­wor­t­hy were the strong inter­na­tio­nal com­mit­ment and the broad sup­port from across the enti­re indus­try. Expert lec­tures by lea­ding spe­cia­lists pro­vi­ded exci­ting insights into for­ward-loo­king topics such as Quan­tum Com­pu­ting, Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on, and Quan­tum Cryp­to­gra­phy, thus cove­ring the enti­re spec­trum of Quan­tum Tech­no­lo­gies.

 

For SQuaD, par­ti­ci­pa­ting in the WoQ was an excel­lent oppor­tu­ni­ty to enga­ge with a broad pro­fes­sio­nal audi­ence. The project’s own booth, deco­ra­ted with umbrel­las and loca­ted direct­ly oppo­si­te the area of the Bun­des­mi­nis­te­ri­um für For­schung, Tech­no­lo­gie und Raum­fahrt (BMFTR), pro­vi­ded the ide­al plat­form to pre­sent the project’s acti­vi­ties and goals and to recei­ve direct feed­back from the com­mu­ni­ty. The diver­si­ty of inter­na­tio­nal guests made it pos­si­ble to estab­lish valuable cont­acts bey­ond Germany’s bor­ders, hel­ped rai­se the pro­fi­le of the umbrel­la pro­ject inter­na­tio­nal­ly, and offe­red deeper insights into the cur­rent sta­te of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on – insights from which we are con­fi­dent to bene­fit for a long time to come.
