Appli­ca­ti­on-ori­en­ted Quan­tum Infor­ma­tics

Announce­ment for the Fun­ding of Pro­jects on the Sub­ject “Appli­ca­ti­on-ori­en­ted Quan­tum Infor­ma­tics”:

The Bun­des­mi­nis­te­ri­um für Bil­dung und For­schung (BMBF) intends to fund pro­jects on the sub­ject “Appli­ca­ti­on-ori­en­ted Quan­tum Infor­ma­tics”. The fun­ding mea­su­re aims to pro­vi­de evi­dence of prac­ti­cal user bene­fits through the use of a Quan­tum Com­pu­ter or at least to deve­lop the foun­da­ti­ons for this and esti­ma­te the resour­ces requi­red. New play­ers are to be attrac­ted to the appli­ca­ti­on of Quan­tum Com­pu­ting and estab­lished insti­tu­ti­ons are to con­ti­nue and expand their acti­vi­ties. Within this frame­work, users from indus­try and basic rese­arch are to be enab­led to assess the poten­ti­al of Quan­tum Com­pu­ting for use in the respec­ti­ve sub­ject area under con­side­ra­ti­on. Fur­ther infor­ma­ti­on on the fun­ding call can be found here.
