The Inno­va­ti­on Hub for Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on is inten­ded to sys­te­ma­ti­cal­ly link and ther­eby fur­ther inten­si­fy Germany’s exis­ting and com­pre­hen­si­ve rese­arch land­scape in the field of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on with the indus­tri­al deve­lo­p­ment of com­pon­ents, sys­tems, and solu­ti­ons for Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on. The Inno­va­ti­on Hub con­nects the acti­ve stake­hol­ders, pro­jects and cur­rent topics in Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on, rather than con­nec­ting indi­vi­du­al, unre­la­ted topics.

Objec­ti­ves of the Hub:

  • Ensu­ring a tar­ge­ted trans­fer of know-how and tech­no­lo­gi­cal approa­ches from rese­arch labo­ra­to­ries to the Ger­man indus­try
  • Enab­ling an inter­ac­tion bet­ween indus­try-led pro­jects and test labo­ra­to­ries for small and medi­um-sized enter­pri­ses (SMEs)
  • Estab­li­shing an eco­sys­tem of manu­fac­tu­r­ers and pro­vi­ders of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on Solu­ti­ons in Ger­ma­ny
  • Aiming for Germany’s tech­no­lo­gi­cal lea­der­ship in the future tech­no­lo­gy of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on
  • Inten­si­fy­ing the trai­ning of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on Experts in rese­arch insti­tu­ti­ons

Indus­try-led Pro­jects

The Inno­va­ti­on Hub for Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on com­pri­ses six indus­try-led pro­jects and the coor­di­na­ting umbrel­la pro­ject SQuaD.

In addi­ti­on to the umbrel­la pro­ject, the hub also pro­mo­tes indus­try-led rese­arch pro­jects that par­ti­ci­pa­te in the work of the umbrel­la pro­ject through an indus­tri­al advi­so­ry board. The focus is on spe­ci­fic indi­vi­du­al appli­ca­ti­ons of the enti­re ran­ge of Quan­tum Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on.
