4th Work­shop for Quan­tum Repea­ters and Net­works (WQRN) in Mon­treux –

The aim of the Work­shop on Quan­tum Repea­ters and Net­works (WQRN) is to bring tog­e­ther the acti­ve rese­arch com­mu­ni­ty to dis­cuss the advan­ces, chal­lenges, and new pos­si­ble direc­tions for quan­tum repea­ters and net­works: key tech­no­lo­gies and sys­tem inte­gra­ti­on, pro­to­cols for con­nec­ting repea­ters over net­work links with high relia­bi­li­ty, archi­tec­tures for lar­ge-sca­le net­works, and appli­ca­ti­ons of dis­tri­bu­ted quan­tum ent­an­gle­ment.
The WQRN is orga­ni­zed by the working groups “Quan­tum Infor­ma­ti­on and Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on” of the Depart­ments of Appli­ed Phy­sics at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Gen­e­va. It was and is a mul­ti-day work­shop with a limi­t­ed num­ber of par­ti­ci­pan­ts, whe­re par­ti­ci­pan­ts have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to exch­an­ge ide­as, direc­tions, and con­cerns in order to advan­ce the sta­te of the field. Pre­sen­ta­ti­ons typi­cal­ly focus on the appli­ca­ti­ons, theo­ry, com­pon­ents, and glo­bal deve­lo­p­ments in the field of quan­tum repea­ters and net­works. The­se lec­tures form the frame­work for group dis­cus­sions in which ever­yo­ne can par­ti­ci­pa­te. Par­ti­ci­pan­ts can also con­tri­bu­te to a pos­ter ses­si­on.
